Sailing is fun to few and dangerous or risky to many. The profession is filled with ups and downs, challenges, good and bad times. Despite all of this some love to sail. Some see the sea as a second home while some say it is home.
Holidays come and go leaving out so many sailors out at sea working to make a living. The hard work of our sailors keeps the world going as 70% of transportation of goods and services worldwide is done at sea. The economy of most country depends on their sea power.
Nigeria is one country where transportation of its resources (Crude oil among others) and other refined products are done at sea.
Sailors work day in day out to keep the economy going with less gratitude for their hardwork and benevolence.
They return to loneliness to their cabin everyday after their days work longing to see their loved ones.
They gave up their pleasure to see the economy of our great nation stays afloat.
I love been a Sailor and I love the sea.
God bless our sailors (both Navy and Merchant Navy) and keep them going amidst rough waters.
To all sailors out there at sea and to those ones at home on time off, I say thank you for your sacrifice. God bless us all.
Merry Xmas and Boxing day.
Do have a fun filled holidays!
